Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena

Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena’s vast art collection, counting more than 30,000 oeuvres, il the result of a historicstratification of of commissions and important targeted acquisitions that gradually assumed the features of a true "collection". The first works of art, in fact, were created to give lustre and reputation to the Institute in the relevant episodes of its secular activity.

The greatest development of the Collection took place, however, since the nineteenseventies. It was in those years that the spaces of the historical seat in Siena were adapted to host the most significant works of the art collection.

Since then, within the San Donato Museum, the Bank has focused its attention on works of the Sienese school, with greater intensification since the eighties of the last century, acquiring local masterpieces to avoid the exodus of paintings or sculptures from the territory.

But Banca Mps also looks towards the future, with an eye to new technologies and digitalisation. For this reason, in 2016, the Bank launched an Instagram Channel dedicated to art (@bancampsart) and today inaugurates, first in Italy, this collaboration with Smartify, that opens new and interesting horizons.
