Museum of Archaeology - La Vieille Ferme Cultural Centre

Musée de la Haute Meuse préhistorique

Built in the enchanting surroundings of a beautiful collection of listed buildings, including La Vieille Ferme (17th century), the château, known as the Priory (16th century) and the church of St Pierre, the Museum of Archaeology in Godinne has, since 2001, offered permanent exhibits showing a part of the prehistoric remains discovered in the rocky massif of Chauveau-Godinne. The exhibits, all highly educational, reconstruct the archaeological remains within their climatic, biological and cultural contexts. Furthermore, the many years that have passed since the first dig undertaken in Chauveau also make it possible to highlight the changes that have taken place in archaeology between the mid-19th century, when this science was still in its infancy, and today.

Directions: follow the signs to the"Centre culturel La Vieille Ferme".

The Museum is located in the early 17th-century former seigniorial farm buildings, more specifically in the wing of outbuildings that also houses the public library and the E.P.N.
