Museum der Landschaft Saanen
The people of Saanen look back on an astonishing cultural and economic development. Once freedom-loving subjects of the Count of Greyerz, mostly hunters, peasants and foresters, they have now become ski instructors, hoteliers and business people. The Museum der Landschaft in Saanen bears testimony to a rich and varied cultural heritage going back more than three centuries.
Saanen, the historical heart of the Saanenland, is one of the most beautiful chalet villages of the Bernese Oberland. The village is listed among the townscapes of Switzerland most worthy of protection. Tradition, handicrafts and a rich history lend Saanen its particular charm.
