Segantini Museum

The Segantini Museum, which was opened in 1908, was designed by the Swiss architect, Nicolaus Hartmann, as a monument or accessible memorial to the great artist, Giovanni Segantini, who spent the last five years of his life in the Engadin. The building, with its large cupola, is reminiscent of the pavilion that Giovanni Segantini had deigned to house his Engadin Panorama at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900. Between 1998 and 1990, the Segantini Museum was extensively renovated and extended by St. Moritz architect Hans-Jörg Ruch. You can discover all kind of interesting information about Giovanni Segantini and his works on six picture panels along the Segantini Path. The trail begins opposite the Hotel Soldanella, passes behind the Segantini Museum, and ends at the Via Somplaz/Suvretta crossroads.
