Exhibition Announcement:
Join us in exploring the thought-provoking world of contemporary art and its reflection on the challenges and aspirations of our time. The current exhibition at RUHR GALLERY MÜLHEIM presents the captivating works of artist Reinhard Fingerhut, under the title "Liberty Ltd." This exhibition serves as a dynamic platform for dialogue, a call to recognize and protect the vital link between art and freedom, and an invitation to reflect upon the role of art in a society facing increasing constraints.
In a Europe marked by resurgent conflicts, the rise of autocracies, and pressing issues such as pandemics, climate change, and energy crises, artists have taken on the mantle of visionaries and commentators. Reinhard Fingerhut's artworks, showcased until September 10, 2023, delve into these pressing concerns, sparking discussions and challenging the boundaries of creative expression.
"Liberty Ltd." is more than just a display of aesthetic excellence; it embodies manifestos of the freedom of spirit and unwavering resolve to combat creative limitations. As the exhibition navigates us through a labyrinth of thoughts, emotions, and perspectives, it also lays bare the pulse of the European art scene. These artworks serve as a testament to the intertwined relationship between art and freedom, offering a unique lens to observe our world and consider its potential transformation.
Reinhard Fingerhut, an artist with a diverse background encompassing roles as varied as government office management and strategy consulting, has seamlessly transitioned into a vibrant world of artistry. His exhibition, "Liberty Ltd.," is a cornerstone of the 2023 thematic exploration "Home sweet @ Home in Europe" at RUHR GALLERY. Notably, the artist's collaborative approach with "DIGITAL IS MAN & ALEX-KI" has resulted in a novel narrative where digital and analog elements engage in a creative hybrid dialogue, a testament to the evolving nature of artistic creation.
We cordially invite you to experience this exhibition and engage in the ongoing discourse surrounding it. The opening event, featuring Prof. Dr. Irene Daum and Manfred Dahmen, is scheduled for Sunday, August 13, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at RuhrGalleryMülheim within the Villa Artis, located at Ruhrstraße 3/Corner Delle, adjacent to the "Ruhranlage" city park. Guitar by Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Schmerer.
The exhibition will be open for visits until September 10, 2023, with guided tours available on Fridays from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Admission is free, and we encourage you to explore additional events as part of the exhibition, such as the panel discussion on August 29, 2023, featuring notable speakers, and thought-provoking talks on September 8 and September 14, 2023, shedding light on the realms of AI and NFTs, as well as a captivating reading by Jörg Juretzka.
Let us come together to celebrate artistic expression, reflect on the essence of freedom, and engage in profound conversations about the challenges and hopes that shape our shared future.
