Dellplatz - place of being - Drawings - Painting - Sculptures

As a resident of Dellplatz in Duisburg, Artist Ute Huck began to perceive her living environment more consciously and examine it in greater detail. The square, with its star-shaped road lines leading to the center, appeared to her as energy fields where life unfolds on Dellplatz.

In her exploration of the topic, Ute focused on the structures of the cobblestones, with their different shades, the colored graffiti, and the occasional chalk drawings on the square. Over time, the artist translated her perceptions of the surfaces, auditory and affective impressions into paintings and drawings. The search for traces became denser, and for her, it became a process in which the public imprints of the square merged with her personal image, in painting and drawing.

Ute Huck's artistic work conveys new and more intense relationships with a familiar place and a long-established living environment.
