Wild Thing – Swiss Fashion Scene

Alongside the renowned textile industry, a lively fashion scene is flourishing in Switzerland, testing its potential far away from the fashion hubs. The exhibition juxtaposes its designs with those of influential labels from earlier decades.

Fashion without mass production, without Hollywood, and without international fashion weeks? Alongside the renowned textile industry, a lively, independent fashion scene is flourishing in Switzerland. Far away from the spotlights and dictates of the big fashion centers, small labels, collectives, and young fashion graduates are testing their potential. Some of these designers are trying to establish themselves in the fashion market with their multi-faceted collections, others are persistently and inventively creating their own system. The exhibition presents a snapshot of today's scene and contrasts its designs with the looks of influential labels from earlier decades. Exhibits include selected outfits and drawings, photographs and film clips, fabric innovations and fashion magazines.
