The exhibition “Wide Open. Fragments of Champagne“ by a photographer Michel Goussard (France).
At the exhibition "Wide Open. Fragments of Champagne“ M. Goussard presents an intriguing collection of weathercocks – their elegant and witty scenes open up the unique features of Champagne to the viewer. Not only is this region famous for its precious champagne, which is also produced by the members of the author's family, but also by Gothic cathedrals decorated with stunning stained-glass objects. The mysterious reflections of the sun and the old stained- glass pieces captured by a sensitive glance of Michel Goussard, open up another cultural page of a lesser familiar region.
In 1991, Anne-Marie Goussard, the daughter of the photographer (currently serving as a Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in the Champagne Ardennes), came to Lithuania for the first time. In addition to a wide range of diplomatic activities, Anna-Marie Goussard organizes exhibitions of Lithuanian artists in France. This year, through the mediation of the Honorary consul, the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art presents a symbolic exhibition of her father's photographs.
The exhibition “Wide Open. Fragments of Champagne“ can be seen as a symbol of a long-standing friendship between two countries – France and Lithuania.
