The Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria conserves hundreds of works of art in its store rooms covering the 13th to the 20th centuries which are not on view for conservation or museum coherency reasons or simply for lack of space in the Palazzo dei Priori rooms.
The aim of the exhibition is to show a selection of the best conserved and most interesting work dating from the 13th to the mid-16th centuries for the first time or give the public a chance to admire them after a decades long gap, thus covering the whole of the Umbrian school’s golden age. The novel experience of seeing the gallery’s museum space enlarged will thus be complemented by new experiences and art work attributions.
