This international exhibition is dedicated to the heritage of the thinker, writer, publicist and translator, artist and pioneer of book printing in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, humanist educator, medical doctor Francysk Skaryna, noting the 500th anniversary of the publication of the Ruthenian Bible (1517).
The focus presenting and returning into historical memory the treasures of book publishing in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania – two books published in the printing house of F. Skaryna. The first is the Book of Job, published in 1517. This is part of the Old Testament, as well as one of the books from the Ruthenian Bible. The second publication presented in the exhibition is the Little Book of Travel – the first book printed in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which saw the light of day in the workshop of F. Skaryna in Vilnius (1522).
