The age of sagas

Numerous religions believe in an afterlife, but it is above all the ancient egyptian conceptions of life after death and their techniques for the conservation of corpses that still fascinate us today. As long ago as the 5th century BC, the greek historian Herodot wrote in great detail about 

the egyptian methods of mummification and embalming.
