What is inside the modern child’s toy crate? Should some things be avoided? What should guide the decisions?
This exhibition considers the dangers related to toys. To this day, in many countries there are no laws or standards regarding the safety of toys. In Estonia and other European Union countries, there are quite strict measures, but many producers do not follow these and hundreds of dangerous toys are discovered each year. Otherwise safe toys can also become dangerous by misuse or when in the wrong hands.
The exhibition is not meant to scare but provide guidance for grown-ups to make educated decisions. Children should be able to play without compromising their health.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Tartu Toy Museum, Estonian Consumer Protection Board and Health Board.
