Silk gown and leather jacket – the fashion studio of Erika Segel-Reinhardt

Erika Segel, née Reinhardt is known for her sophisticated fashion designs. In the 1950s she meant a lot to those who appreciated the material leather and to those who were searching for something extraordinary.
Not only Soraya, wife of the Shah of Persia, was part of Erika Segels exquisite clientele but also “high-class prostitute” Rosemarie Nitribitt.
The historisches museum frankfurt received the few pieces, which are left from her long and creative life, as a donation in 2011.
In a small exhibition the achievements of the important fashion designer are shown in public for the first time.
