"The Path of The Rose in Karlovo Rose Valley"
        
The exhibition illustrates history of rose production in Karlovo region since the very beginning of rose in our lands. This exposition regards rose production as the prevailing occupation for the local people. The region is also centre of rose production in Bulgaria which brings forward the following topics: traditional technology for rose oil production until the 50s of XIX c. – which is presented by some original vessels for rose oil and rose water extraction: copper cauldron, cooling barrel, kokumas – copper vessels for rose oil preservation, various glass bottles for storage and transportation of rose water.

Another main topic, presented in the exhibition is development of rose oil trade and the commercial activity of Karlovo's merchants and cooperatives. This crucial occupation for people in Karlovo is presented with textile which mirrors the spiritual world in the material. The history of rose production and the history of Rose Feast in Karlovo are illustrated with text descriptions and pictures.

A special place in the exposition is given to documents, connected to the productive and trade aspects of some of the most prominent rose oil producers from Karlovo like Mitovi Brothers, Hristo Dzhidzhev, Kostadin Cheshmedzhiev, Stefan Kyojbashiev, Nikola Kozinarov from Klisura, Encho and Velizar Bagarovi, St. Lozenov, V. Shopov from Sopot, Iliya Mangarov from Kalofer, rose trading house "Garnierre-Boyadzhov-Dzhidzhev-Zoev" etc.

Most of the exhibit comprises of original items from the collections of Historical Museum – Karlovo, some of which are shown for the first time.
