CONSTANZE RUHM. RE: REHEARSALS (NO SUCH THING AS REPETITION)

The exhibition is the first retrospective dedicated to the artist and filmmaker Constanze Ruhm. The show presents her complex of works X Characters dating from the years 2001 to 2014, which is integrated into a spatial concept Ruhm developed together with the Austrian-Iranian architect Golmar Kempinger-Khatibi. Comprising films, filmic installations, photographic series, and web-based projects, X CHARACTERS deals with a series of female characters from modernist cinema whose present-day revenants emerge in new settings and new narratives.
