Toy boats

The exhibition, through sixty objects, themes related to the development of the boat set from 1850 to 1950. A period marked by the industrial age and the technical, economic, and social. The appearance of the manufactured boat toy, play at home, through the treasures of mechanical engineering; toys, paintings and photos with humor and tenderness recreate the atmosphere so attached to the boat particular toy. Special lighting is on the sailboat toy, emblem of the pool game and sea, but also a major iconography pattern of seaside tourism booming, the Breton coast was one of the theaters.

In 2007, the National Maritime Museum presented the exhibition in Paris Toy boats, from 1850 to 1950, the first of its kind, and highlighted a full century of history of toy boats. In 2014, these collectibles are again gathered at two original exhibitions in museums of Brest and Toulon.
