The main focus in the exhibition dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Paulius Galaunė, director of M. K. Čiurlionis Art Museum for many years, an art historian and pedagogue, and 120th anniversary of Adelė Galaunienė, primadona of Lithuanian opera, is Folk Art. Sequencing the programme The Museum Path which is developing this year the topic of wonderful folk art, the museum invites visitors to bring back to memory a series of albums on Lithuanian Folk Art.
The exhibition presents only a small part of folk art treasury accumulated in M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art. Some exhibits entered the museum collections in 1907 from the Lithuanian Art Society, others have successfully represented Lithuania in Decorative Art exhibition in Monza (Italy) in 1925, and in Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark) in 1931.
