Graeme Willson has exhibited nationally with a considerable reputation as an artist working in public places; his works for York Minster and Leeds Corn Exchange are well known. His watercolours have been acquired by Leeds City Art Galleries. His work covers a range of themes, principally concerned with the human face/figure.
Graeme makes references to architecture, landscape and natural forms. Geometry is felt in his painting as a subtle background presence, or part of some architectural underpinning. Processes and methods of painting form a large part of the subject, bringing the work to the verge of abstraction.
