Kaunas Biennial exhibition "Time Shroud" presents the new Lithuanian textile collection.
Stop phubbing! – this is what the organizers of the exhibition "Time Shroud" announce and invite to stop for a while and take a glance at ourselves and those who surround us. Phubbing – is a new English word that appeared two years ago and means ignorance of a person in front of you by looking at the phone.
The collection presents works by 21 artist who try to reflect the mature introspection, manifest search for sameness.
The presented textile is limitless in techniques, sizes or tools: you will see computerized jacquard woven fabrics of large format, subtle textile objects, ritualized performances, classic tapestry weaving samples or embroidery technique combined with photography, video art, dance media. Memory and ideas, real and virtual images of the world intertwine and by this the fragile line between illusion and reality is being illustrated. With their works the artists start claiming that textile is seeking for new ways of expression and artistic connections.
