Between the Lines” is the title of the latest exhibition by E.A.S.T., East Anglian Stitch Textiles. The exhibition is based on the groups’ response to the centenary of the First World War.
Each of the twelve artists has explored the 1914/18 conflict and undertaken extensive research of their chosen theme. These include a wide range of topics from life on the Western front, the role of women, the effects on landscape and nature, allied armies, mapping, armaments and the reflections of writers and artists in the1920s.
As with all E.A.S.T. exhibitions, the work will include a wide range of textile techniques, all beautifully presented to the highest standard and expertise. The contemporary work will be accompanied by the research material making the completed display highly topical as the country remembers this significant period of our history.
