An exhibition of photographs, films, personal objects and stories, mapping the experiences of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAMER) women living in the North East.
The Arrivals exhibition marks the beginning of the BAM! Sistahood! Project, which aims to reflect the true diversity of BAMER’s women’s lives in the North East by researching, documenting and digitising BAMER women’s experiences of arriving or settling in the North East, their creation of new political and social identities, and often their struggle for a voice and visibility.
