Heritage Open Days 2014: Extra! Extra! at the Smithy

Our 'Murder Most Foul' exhibition about local historic crimes, how criminals were caught and punished will be extended for Heritage Open Days - there's nothing too grisly though! Daily newspapers and “penny dreadfuls” played a huge part in recording details of crimes in the Victorian era, as well as providing entertainment for the masses, so visitors can try their hand at printing. Refreshments will be served in the adjoining Village Hall, so you can sit down with a cup of tea and homemade cakes.
