Emona trail

Experiential journey through ancient Emona from Emonska cesta to Mirje

Our journey 2000 years into the past through ancient Emona starts on Emonska ulica (Emona street) in Trnovo. Accompanied by the music of the muse Euterpe and guidance of the muse of history, Clio, we will become Roman explorers and try solve the mystery of an ancient Roman legend. We will discover old traces and notes on parchment scrolls, examine inscriptions on mosaic plaques and try find the answers and the right way by meeting the residents of Emona along the Roman wall. The trail ends in Emona House at Mirje, where we will enjoy the play The Menaechmi (The Twins), written by the ancient Roman playwright Plautus.

Meeting point for participants: in front of the Ljubljana Vic-Rudnik Music School (Emonska ulica) from 6.15 to 6.30 PM.

Public dress rehearsal: 26th August at 6.30 PM

The show includes walking and is intended for groups of up to 60 people. It is appropriate for children of five years and over (escorted by parents) and lasts 90 minutes. You can reserve free tickets at the email address rezervacije@hisaotrok.si. In case of bad weather the performance will be cancelled and rescheduled between 4th and 6th September 2014.
