The Finishing Touch: women’s accessories, 1830-1940

The Finishing Touch’, will show the wide variety of fashionable bags, shoes and hats available to women from the start of the Victorian era to the outbreak of the Second World War.

The exhibition will look at changing social customs and the place of women in society, as reflected through the accessories that they wore.

About 60 bags, shoes, hats and other accessories from our Decorative Art collection will be displayed.
