Alison Turnbull is a contemporary artist who transforms readymade information - plans, diagrams, blueprints - into abstract paintings. In her latest exhibition, ‘Like a Secret Spring in a Well-ordered Machine’, Turnbull has taken inspiration from star charts and the architecture of spaces relating to the study of the night sky. At Shandy Hall Gallery she will be showing new paintings that reconfigure in various ways a found image of distant galaxies, assembled by astronomers from photographs taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. This exhibition is supported by Arts Council England. Shandy Hall Gallery is open daily (except Saturday), 11am - 4.30pm. Free entry.
