This new exhibition looks at the history of bells and bell making in Runnymede and has been put together by Malcolm Loveday, Tower Captain at St Peter’s Church and Chairman of the Chertsey Society. Two generations of the Eldridge family of bellfounders worked in Chertsey from about 1619 until 1716. The exhibition marks the 300th anniversary of the last bell to be cast at Chertsey’s bell foundry.
