St. John's College Mass Burial: Massacre or Misfortune?

In 2008, Thames Valley Archaeology Service found the remains of around 37 young men in the top of a previously unknown Neolithic henge monument in the grounds of St John's College, Oxford. Savagely slaughtered and dumped in a ditch around the end of the 10th-century AD, were theses the physical remains of the historically-documented St Brice’s Day Massacre, in 1002? Professor Pollard’s lecture will reveal how isotopic analysis has resolved the mystery.
