Mansfield Museum will host an exhibition about Clipstone Camp, one of the largest WW1 training camps in the country. Approximately 30,000 soldiers were billeted there. WAACs were at the camp in 1917 and at the end of the war it was where many soldiers were demobbed.
This all had a great effect on the whole Mansfield area and additional features of the display will look at local industries, schools, churches and the community during those years. Young people will be encouraged to take part in activities during the course of the exhibition.
