Raziskuje likovne forme, kjer barve in oblike počasi postajajo vse bolj minimalistične, vendar intenzivne v svoji pojavnosti, saj spominjajo na projekcije in laserje, kar gledalcu omogoča svojevrstno zaznavo galerijskega prostora.

Torej proces zaznave z vidno koncentracijo in moč uma skozi koncentracijo. Zanima me tisto, 'kar leži med vrsticami'.«

Milan Kreš, Illuminations

Miran Kreš (1973) is a member of an international group of abstract painters. He sees paintings as an open-ended science or as a set of psychological effects of colour and form on the viewer. He makes the observer contend with a paradoxical dichotomy – namely, if the lighting of the exhibition space is appropriately dimmed, the monochrome white painterly objects and wall paintings, which are almost indiscernible to the eye, change into colour surfaces and geometric shapes that emit light. The works are on the verge of object and painting. The artist explores visual forms whereby colours and shapes are slowly becoming increasingly minimalist, yet intense in their incidence, since they are reminiscent of projections and lasers, which give the viewer a unique perception of the gallery space.

“The monochromatic works are painted in single light shades using luminescent pigments that glow in the dark and require the active involvement of the viewer’s gaze, since only this can provide a comprehensive insight into the exhibited painting installation. I do not merely require vision as a physical function from the viewer, but also the level of ‘silent communication’ or another form of cerebral involvement. Such ‘pure perception’ can be understood as experience that allows and requires stillness. Therefore the process of perception with visible concentration and the power of the mind through concentration. I am interested in that ‘which lies between the lines’.”(Miran Kreš)
