Basket Weaving Workshop

Basket weaving dates back thousands of years and recent excavations suggest that tools and techniques have remained remarkably similar today! Learn and use these ancient techqniques including pairing, waling, randing and slyping to create your very own small, round, willow basket made using the stake and strand technique. Finish the basket with a rod border and take it home with you to impress your friends! The workshop will be led by well-known local tutor Sue Kirk. Sue has 15 years basketry experience and uses Somerset and locally-grown willow. Lunch is also included in this workshop.
