Conference: 150 Years of The People’s Business

Tying in with our changing exhibition The People’s Business – 150 Years of The Co-operative, this conference explores a range of themes related to the 150 year history of the Co-operative Wholesale Society (CWS), which became The Co-operative Group in 2001. We will be joined by experts from the Co-operative Heritage Trust, the University of Central Lancashire and Northumbria University to explore the operations and activities of one of the UK’s best known and largest co-operative businesses, from its inception in 1863 through to today.
