Coffee & Conversation: A Suit-able Promise

Bernd Koschland joins us to discuss the history of the Kindertransport, the humanitarian effort that brought 10,000 persecuted children to the UK from Europe in 1938-39. The talk will touch on the events that led to the organisation of the Kindertransport, climaxing with Kristallnacht in November 1938. In addition, Koschland will look at the trauma felt by parents and children who were separated, how the refugee children acclimatised to their new surroundings in Britian, as well as what became of the children and their families after the war. Bernd Koschland came to the UK on the Kindertransport and is on the organising committee for the Kindertransport special interest group at the Association of Jewish Refugees.
