The Bronze Age barrow cemetary on Petersfield Heath has long been neglected despite being one of the most impressive surviving groups of such monuments in south-east England. This talk, which will be lead by archaeologists Stuart Needham and George Anelay, will start by giving a background to the period of these burial mounds and summarise what kinds of knowledge have been gained from their investigations elsewhere in the country.
Talks will be held at the Physic Garden, Petersfield High Street, starting at 7pm. Tickets are £7 (£5 for Museum members) and are available for purchase at the Flora Twort Gallery. Refreshments will be provided.
