Hidden Treasures

On 22nd August, curators from Bristol Museum and Art Gallery will reveal three different ways in which treasures in our collections are hidden from the public: our collection which we acquired from the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum when it closed, and which are currently in store (11 a.m. led by Sue Giles); our large ‘behind the scenes’ biology collection which contributes hugely to scientific research (12 a.m. led by Isla Gladstone); and our internationally recognised collection of Chinese glass and ceramic treasures which are ‘hidden in plain view’ in one of our galleries (13.30 led by Willemijn van Noord).

Date: August 22nd, 11 – 11.45am (British Empire and Commonwealth collection) / 12 – 12.45pm (hidden science research linked to biology collection) / 1.30 – 2.15pm (Chinese ceramics and glass treasures)
