Hidden Treasures behind the scenes tour

CU Soon! Join our museum services team for a guided behind the scenes tour of the museum stores. The collections unit is the permanent home for Dundee’s Archaeology, History, Natural Sciences and World Cultures collections. Under one roof there are butterflies, agates, dresses, photographs, Roman pottery and Inuit necklaces. The collection unit cares for thousands of objects dating from 400 million years ago right up to the present day.

There are 12 places available on each tour
Most of the building is fully accessible, with a lift to all floors. however space in teh stores themselves can be quite tight which is why we limit tours to a twelve people maximum
There are no onsite parking facilities. However there are a limited number of disabled spaces outside the McManus galleries about three minutes away. There are several public car parks near to the collections unit.
