Join us for a tour led by curators, exploring objects from the Anthropology and Natural History collection at our off-site storage faciility, the Study Collections Centre (SCC) which houses the majority of the collections.
Staff are reviewing and photographing 1,000s of objects from the Horniman’s Anthropology and Natural History collections, and sharing the stories and meanings that emerge. In this tour, you will meet the people carrying out this work and glimpse our hidden treasures.
Date: August 22nd, 9.30am – 1.30pm / 1.45 – 5.45pm
Booking details: Fill out a booking form for either the morning or afternoon tour on the Horniman website at www.horniman.ac.uk/visit/events/hidden-treasures-tours

Please note that this event is for people 16 years and above.
Tours will begin by meeting at the Museum by the Totem Pole in the Gardens (9.30am or 1.45pm promptly).
Visitors will be driven to the Study Collections Centre in a minibus provided by the museum. If you are a wheelchair user, then please contact us in advance so that we can discuss alternative arrangements for getting to the store. Finishing times reflect what time visitors will be back at the main museum site in Forest Hill. Light refreshments will be available at the store, and there is a cafe at the Museum.
The Museum is open from 10.30am-5.30pm, and the Gardens from 7.30am until sunset, so we encourage people to visit them after the morning tour or before the afternoon tour for a full experience.
