Paper People Bradford

This exhibition depicts the experience of working as an independent artist in the Calais Jungle October 2015 – September 2016 and features some of the artwork created by refugees. Some of the artwork made in Calais has been developed further and will be presented as an installation in City Park on August 18th 2018. A public artwork made by the public, Paper People Bradford is a piece of art that aspires to global community cohesion although the finished artwork may speak to you in different ways. The exhibition at The Peace Museum hopes to give a background as to how and why the Paper People artwork came about. “I went to Calais believing that someone there would want to paint and if I could find that one person then I would be useful. What I found was a need for men and boys to make art on a scale that I’d never encountered before.” – Suzanne Partridge
