'The Stout Doctor': Portraits of Martin Luther

With Lyndal Roper, Regius Professor of History, University of Oxford It has been 500 years since Martin Luther posted his Ninety-Five Theses which inspired the Reformation, but without the artist Lucas Cranach, would Luther’s Reformation have been so successful? Images were central to the Reformation, and the anniversary has inspired some powerful new images of the reformer.
