Gallantry at the Battle of Givenchy 9th April 1918

Exhibition looking at the gallantry awards made to the soldiers of the 1st/4th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment at the Battle of Givenchy on 9th April 1918. The battalion was part of the 55th West Lancashire Division, whose most famous action was the holding of three attacking German Divisions at Givenchy in April 1918. The soldiers of the King's Own were awarded an impressive number of awards, including the Victoria Cross, Military Crosses, Distinguished Conduct Medals and Military Medals. This exhibition looks at some of the gallantry awards and items from the battle.
