Enjoy a free day of family activities to celebrate the launch of a new display featuring the World Cultures collection.
Get close to objects from the collection and hear more about them from experts at this free event. To celebrate the theme there will lots of family-friendly activities including henna hand-decorating, make and take activities for children plus a round-the-world trail. A stunning display of Indian clothes from Lavish in Worcester will be complemented by a demonstration on how to dress in a sari.
Following funding from West Midlands Museum Development, Museums Worcestershire has worked with a World Cultures specialist curator to identify the histories of previously unknown objects in the collection; at least one object has been discovered to be of international significance. Items in the collection range from Indian slippers and Saris to Maori axeheads and Gurkha weapons.
