Supernatural characters and other ‘monsters’ are central to Greek myth; heroes must overcome them to complete their quests. This talk focuses on one type of magical beings – shapeshifting gods who turn into lions, bears and even trees – looking into how they are depicted, their identity, and their connection to monsters.
