On Tuesday 13th February, there will be a Fantastic Flags family drop in event where children can enjoy spending the morning discovering more about the variety of flags from around the world. There will be arts and crafts available including the chance to create your very own fantastic flag! The event runs from 10.30am to 1pm so why not bring a picnic and stay for lunch!
Early Birds takes place on Wednesday 14th February. A friendly morning session enabling families with children who have an Autism Spectrum Condition to enjoy the Museum free from the hustle and bustle of the general public. The Museum will open early at 9am and families can explore the galleries at their own pace and in a calm, relaxed environment. There will also be the opportunity to handle special objects too.
There's even more fun to be had when the Museum Explorers meet on Thursday 15th February. Young explorers can discover the Museum's wonderful collection of fossil ammonites and then get hands-on with a craft activity creating amazing ammonite based works of art. The sessions run from 10.30am – 12pm and are suitable for children aged 5-11 years – parents do not need to stay. (booking advisable).
The galleries are full of interactive fun too including quizzes and puzzles available every day as well as backpacks offering a variety of activities for children to do whilst exploring the galleries. Look out for the half term gallery trail! For more details visit www.haslemeremuseum.co.uk
