Waddesdon Manor's Enchanted Menagerie

This year we celebrate the weird and wonderful animals of Waddesdon. See an elephant parade inspired by an 18th-century musical automaton to a life-sized zebra and trees decked with birds and mythical beasts. While Waddesdon’s main rooms are ‘put to bed’ for cleaning and conservation, parts of the House are opened specially for Christmas, with decorations that celebrate the weird and wonderful animals of Waddesdon, from an elephant parade inspired by an 18th-century musical automaton to a life-sized zebra and trees decked with colourful birds and mythical beasts. For kids, pick up one of our free children's trails at the house entrance to discover some of the more unusual aspects of the collection.
