Jubilate: music and science in 18th century Bath

Links #RoyalCrescent250 celebrations with the 250th anniversary of William Herschel being appointed Director of Music in Bath. Herschel went on to make major astronomical achievements including the discovery of the planet Uranus in 1781, but his passion for music continued throughout his life. He was a prolific composer, musician and teacher. We explore the vibrant musical scene in the City during the period of the Enlightenment and its importance to the social makeup and cultural like of Bath when it was at its most fashionable and vibrant.
