“The Rebirth of Archeological Artifacts in the Museum” and “Gold and Silver in the Vilnius of the Middle Ages: what the archeological artifacts tell us”

Around 1500 archeological artifacts, found in the residency of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, are exhibited in the Museum of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Restorers and archeologists will tell you in their lectures about the ways that these unique treasures “travelled” from the archeological digs into the museum’s expositions. You will be able to find out more about their professions and the characteristics of their work. You will also have the opportunity to view the precious metal artifacts found during the digs in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, you will find out what was worn by the citizens and courtiers of Vilnius, what precious gifts they gave each other, and where they got gold and silver from.
