Memory of Objects

For nearly 40 years, International Museum Day has been celebrated on and around the 18th May each year.  The theme of 2017  is  ‘Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums’.

With the occasion of the International Museum Day on 18th of May,  a workshop will be organized at the Hrant Dink Site of Memory under the supervision of Horst Hoheisel and Andreas Knitz.  Both artists from Germany develop new shapes of monuments, which became internationally known as “counter-memorials".

The theme of the workshop will be ‘Memory of Objects’ and the participants are expected to bring an object which symbolizes the present and past of Turkey-Armenia relations.  The workshop which has a special focus on objects will be organized on the 17th of May between 15:00-17:00 at Hrant Dink Site of Memory.

The workshop is limited for 20 people. The language of the workshop will be in English. The application form shall be filled in English.

The deadline for application is 13th of May and the results will be announced for the participants of 15th of May, Monday.
