The Museum of Greek Children’s Art celebrates the International Museum’s Day in its own unique and socially sensitive way!
On Saturday 20th May 2017, it has programmed an Art programme titled “Drawing all together the unspeakable”, inviting all children aged 5-11, living in Greece, regardless of their nationality, along with their parents and caregivers, to draw together all the things that ……cannot be verbally expressed.
With stimuli stemming from the Museum’s exhibits, artworks and three-dimensional constructions created by children, participants shall discover all together and communicate through the common and universal language of Art.
With free entrance and admission, the participants will creatively wander through the Museum’s two exhibitions titled “Alone or Unique; diversity & racism” and “Caring with Art. From the ego’s microcosm to the world of we”, focusing in the artworks that “talk” about the socially vulnerable groups, for incidents and unjust attitudes that children witness, hear about and grasp in their own unique way. Through experiential activities, art games and painting everyone is going to process terms such as diversity, racism, isolation but also caring, respect, solidarity.
Εach programme lasts 55’ in total and is scheduled to be repeated 7 times during the day every 30’; the first programme will start at 11.00 and the last will start at 14.00.
