Drawing From Life

A FOCUS ON LIFE DRAWING AT SKIPTON TOWN HALL'S CRAVEN GALLERY Open Monday - Saturday 10am - 4pm, Free Admission. Showcasing a vast array of models, materials and styles this exhibition is a real testament to this age old art, practiced throughout history (there is even evidence of life studies and figure drawing as early as prehistoric times) and yet remains today one of the best ways to learn to draw. It is the discipline that artists return throughout their practice year after year, regardless of their medium - painters, sculptors, ceramists or printmakers - all take inspiration from the simple pleasure of drawing. The exhibition will demonstrate the variety of approaches and styles amongst both present and past students, from pencil through to bronze, wire sculpture to linocut.
