Exhibition Eclectic - Clifford Richards

Clifford Richards created a microcosm of the 1960s – pop-ups, ‘slotties’ dolls houses, packaging and prints. Vibrant, witty and fun, his work is an exuberant expression of that extraordinary decade. We are delighted to acquire some of his classic designs for our collections, to make them accessible for everyone to study and enjoy” Margaret Timmers. Word & Image Department, Victoria and Albert Museum. Clifford Richards’ Eclectic exhibition will predominantly comprise of bold new work that tackles the ironies of modern weaponry and pays homage to creative heroes. The show will also acknowledge recent commercial projects as well as his early career that began in advertising where he developed his first products – a collection of self-assembled cardboard gift boxes and a range of slot-together animals and prints that encapsulated the swinging 60s, most of which is now in the permanent collection of the V&A.
