Exhibition Tour

Margaret Agnes Rope produced stained glass that can be found in churches and cathedrals on three continents and collected by American Museums but is largely forgotten in her home town. ‘Marga’, as she was known, was born in 1882 and has been described as an ’Instinctive rebel know for smoking cheroot cigars, riding a motorbike and wearing her hair short’ A major exhibition of her work is being shown at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery and if you would like to learn more about this intriguing artist a special tour for Age UK has been arranged for Friday 6th January at 2.00pm. Your guide for the afternoon will be Nathalie Hildegard Liege who is also a Stained Glass Artist. Nathalie runs a stained glass workshop at the English Bridge and is currently running a project with the museum to produce a stained glass window inspired by the collections and the Margaret Rope exhibition. The tour starts at 2.00pm and will last about 45minutes . Tea and biscuits will be available after the tour.
